The best-laid plans…

Today I had all kinds of plans to work on all kinds of projects…..but sometimes things don’t work out quite the way you plan them…

Our 8 year old ended up staying home and so instead of working on older son’s graduation quilt…

or my cherry quilt...001

we went exploring at the creek! It was a beautiful day…perfect for adventuring.

And it was cool because we saw robins, and fish, and a blue jay, and a hawk, and a snake(!) ( Could have done without the snake, but he was safely in the water and I was safely NOT ~haha).  I guess sometimes you just have to go with the flow 🙂 Of course, while we were out, I had to take a few pictures of the flowers and trees in the yard too:

( And I did manage to sneak in a little bit of sewing after all!)

My pile of “beach ball”  pieces for this quilt is growing…

and I did manage to make BLOOM block number 15! ( This one might just be my most favorite block yet!)019020Isn’t it the cutest?? I can imagine making an entire quilt with just this flower….hmmmm…..NO! MUST FINISH A PROJECT FIRST….have to be strong….sigh. But maybe just a little wall-hanging?? Or a teeny pillow?? A place mat would be adorable!…..

Talk to you soon. 🙂

  1. Your blocks are looking really good, I agree that is a gorgeous flower block and would indeed make a lovely quilt just on its own. I hate snakes, we have very deadly ones here. Take care and thanks for sharing. Guida
