Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you are all spending the day with someone special, whether that be a spouse, or a friend( even the furry kind!), or a family member. I am spending my day at home with our youngest who is home sick from school 🙂 It is giving me plenty of opportunity to work on finishing the binding on this quilt
which I am really hoping to deliver to its new owner this coming weekend! It has been a fun project to work on, even though the pieced backing caused me quite a few headaches! The whole quilt is kind of crazy and bright, but I am happy with the final result and I hope it brings the recipient some joy and distraction at a difficult time.
This past weekend I visited one of my favorite quilt shops, Log Cabin Quilt Shop,
to purchase more prizes for giveaways and mentioned my blog to the owner. She insisted on giving me this quilt pattern so that I could give it away to one of my readers! Isn’t she the sweetest?! I saw a sample of this pattern done with scraps and it looks amazing in person ( should have taken a picture!!).Here is a picture of the one on her website: Anyway, I hope that you will visit Ruth’s shop’s website. She also has a Facebook page ( Tell her “hi” when you visit!) where she features the many quilts that the Amish and Mennonite ladies in the area make.Ruth explained she doesn’t have the time or manpower to put all her fabrics online, but she does sell patterns, books, kits, and other items, plus she shares plenty of pictures there, so it will be like you are visiting in person. And if you ever have a chance to be in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area, you might want to make some time to spend time in her shop.
In order to have a chance to win the pattern Linking Hearts, just leave me a comment right here on my blog, telling me what color way you would make the pattern in. I will close this contest on Friday, February 17th at midnight EST. Good luck! ( and of course this contest is OPEN to everyone, everywhere! 🙂 )
Well, I am off to make a cup of tea and make myself comfortable in my favorite chair and stitch the day away.
Until next time,
