Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are having a lovely day! It is just gorgeous weather here…really way too nice for February.  It is warm and sunny, the birds are very busy and my trees are starting to bud…I even have some greens poking out of the ground already. Well, if we can’t have snow then I will take this kind of weather!

I promised I would announce the winner of the Linking Hearts pattern this weekend. I picked  a random number and LIZ came out as the winner. She wrote:img_2202” I like the idea of pinks and pale greens with a cream background. Just how I imagine my summer garden given that all we have now is a few snowdrops and emerging daffodils”. Congratulations Liz! Please email( farmhousequiltsinlancaster@gmail.com) me your full name and address and I will send out your pattern. 🙂

I’m off to work on a  new project I started on Friday ( yes, I got distracted by something else…no surprise there!) . My work is based on a pattern from Simply Moderne magazine, img_2242but I don’t want to make a full quilt and I just HAD to incorporate this beautiful fabric I bought a few weeks ago.img_2236 You know how some fabrics just SPEAK to you?! Well, this one spoke to me and told me to buy all the remaining fabric, which is exactly what I did! I have a few other fabrics in my stash that came to be mine the exact same way.img_2241 You probably recognize these from other projects. I am savoring these and possibly guarding them because there is so little left of them and I LOVE THEM. Anyway, the newly acquired fabric is going to get paired with these petals and made into a table runner for our farm table…a perfect one to use all Spring, don’t you think?!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this so very much! The colors are so happy and I am happy to be using up some scraps in the process too.

Working on this project did get me started pondering  another project alreadyimg_2243but you will have to wait until next post to see what this is going to be. It will involve more scraps! Let’s see if the idea in my head actually turns out 🙂

Until next time…happy creating!

Monique

  1. I really love that fabric! Such wonderful colors! That mushroom fabric is too cute and I would want to hang on to it too. 🙂 Spring has sprung here as well and I got some bird seed for my feeder today!

  2. I love the fabric. I would have bought it too. Today I cut out a new fleece shirt for myself. I need to mark it and then I’ll get started sewing tomorrow. I’ll post a photo when it’s completed.

  3. Congratulations Liz!!! I love your colour combo ideas 🙂 And Monique – OMG I would covet that fabric too! The beautiful springtime fabric, those little mushies, and the plates! Oh wow! I too have favourite fabrics which I want to turn into a fabric diary (to always keep a bit). My mum makes Christmas goodies that always have a particular fabric somewhere in it, I think she must’ve bought the entire bolt 😉 hehe
