My 200th post!

Hello friends,

I know I had promised you a fusible applique tutorial today, but this week was crazy with other things that just had to get done, so I promise to publish that post next week ;).

Instead this week I thought we could celebrate the fact that I wrote my 200th blog post! Woohoooo! I can’t believe that I have had that many things to write about…HA!  Image by Annalise Batista from Pixabay~used with permission

Anyway, I want to thank you all so much for your support these past few years….everything from your sweet comments on my blog posts, to purchasing through my affiliate links, to sending me little gifts, to buying from my shoppe, to sending me sweet notes in the mail. I appreciate all of you so very much for all the ways you have contributed to this fun journey!

To celebrate 200 posts, I thought it might be fun to link back to some of my most popular posts these past ( almost) 4 years,  just in case you missed them:

My very first blog post….boy, it was a very brief post, but I had no idea that anyone would care at all about what I had to write 😉 :

This blog post featured a tour of my quilt room:

I loved writing this post!

You loved my “confession” post…probably because you found a kindred spirit 😉 :

The post about my new sewing space in our new home was popular:

Remember this post?

And I’ll wrap it up with this post about our new home and all the improvements we have made in the past year:

It was fun for me to go back and look through all the posts ( and a little embarrassing to spot projects that I still have not finished…hahahaha) and I hope you enjoyed looking back with me.

Now for the celebration part! To celebrate my 200th blog post I want to pick not one, not two, but three winners to receive a special gift from me! Without your feedback and support there would be no 200 blog posts so this is my way of thanking you. ( If I could send all of you a gift I would, but that’s not possible).  Photo by Ylanite Koppens from Pexels used with permission

In order to be eligible to win one of these prizes ( I’m going to keep them a surprise :D), leave me a comment on this post. I will pick three different winners ( and you do not need to be located in the USA, everyone can participate!). I do ask that you are a subscriber to my blog ( which means you receive my blog posts via email). If you are not a subscriber yet, no problem, just use the “subscribe to this blog via email” button that is located on the right-hand side of the page ( on your phone it might be at the bottom of the post), subscribe, and you will be all set!

Thanks again for all the love!

Until next time~happy creating! Monique

  1. Your 200th post, how exciting, Congratulations! Many of those posts were new to me and a pleasure to read this morning, your loathe orange post made me smile, it’s my least favorite color but I have used it occasionally on account it’s my son and grandsons favorite color. I can also relate to your older post regarding an unused dining room becoming your sewing space, when we built out house, I redesigned what should of been a formal dining room into my quilt studio, isn’t that what eat in kitchens are for, why do you need both? No fabric purchases for a year? If there’s a quilter who hasn’t made it or broke that promise to themselves they will, and as for UFO’s at one time when I counted there were over 💯 however thanks to the UFO challenge that no, has gone way down, Many projects finally finished and gifted with a few being donated after I asked myself “what was I thinking”. However I have to ask, Did you keep your first quilt? Thanks for all you do, and thank you to my twin for introducing me to your blog.

    1. Congratulations! I love your creativity. I’m not as creative but enjoy seeing people that are. I mainly make quilts and bags, and love new ideas. Thank you for sharing what you do.

  6. Congratulations on your 200th post! Your home is lovely and your quilt space is superb! Thanks also for that post about orange. I tend to shun orange because the color doesn’t look good on me, but on a wall it would be great!

  8. Who doesn’t enjoy a little gift once in awhile, so I’m sending this message to put me in the hat. I shied away from sending my birthday to you as I know you are one busy lady, but then I rethought that and still didn’t do it. Turning 79 was a little difficult, but someone said, it is just a number. So I am trying to straighten myself up over that, and having my hubby turn 80 has seemed to do the trick. He is the same kind and sweet man he has always been and he agreed to move from WA here to NC because I wanted to spend a little more time with our second son, now a retired Marine and our two grandchildren. Hubby agreed because during his work career he moved us six or seven time back and forth across the U.S. We even lived in Warren, PA for a year and a half before going out West and he told me thought if I wanted to move to another state we could do it. His only remark was “well if we move we have to buy the house on the golf course.” It’s not a smart fancy course and and he doesn’t play golf any more because of arthritis, but he gets a kick out of walking around the yard looking for golf balls to retrieve before our little Pom gets to them. So anyway, I do enjoy your posts, love seeing what you are up to with your quilting and your daily posts. I love the photos of home settings, and seeing the comments of others. So anyway, this is way to long, but I like writing letters and just not many to send them to any more. So thanks for the offer of sending a ‘little something’ to three of your group. That is one of the things that makes you special.

  12. Well, I just love reading your posts and seeing your cheerful face can make me feel better just looking at your photo! Re-reading the post about hated colors made me remember that I really like a pale orange (maybe peach) with a pale aqua together so much. I don’t know why and wish I did, but that color combination lights up some spot in my brain. It is the same for chartreuse (lime green) and aqua and include the orange. I remember as a child loving to use those colors in my coloring books. (I am 79 years old but still remember loving to color in my coloring books, especially the ones of movie stars and their clothes. ) Wow, I guess sort of off the subject, but I think that love of combining colors is what sparked loving the colors in quilting.

Also in that post you had photos of the little rabbit. Several years I have had a little rabbit in my yard that I have photographed, They are sooo adorable.

Thanks for so much joy. We all need it these days and you supply a great portion just by yourself.

  15. Congratulations, Monique on your 200th blog post!!!!

Your blog is great. You come across as a fun, accepting and very real person! I always love reading your blogs, and I think the facebook group is the best. There is always someone showing their work; and you always post the best and most interesting posts. Thanks for spending the time that you do to provide the different photos and sayings. They are much appreciated so although I’m sure it takes you time to put them up it is much valued by the members of the group.

    Thanks again

  16. Congratulations on this milestone! I love reading your posts. We lived in Georgia for 20 years ~ now in NV. It’s great to see your photos of your home and the yard and the flowers and the trees. I save many of your posts for an easy find for a particular topic. Keep going for the next milestone . . .
