Winner, winner, …..

Hello there!

I hope you have all been enjoying a beautiful week full of crafty goodness! Here, our Fall temperatures have returned, thank goodness, and we have enjoyed some gorgeous days. Mind you, some of them were rather miserable, like the day we went to a parade and the wind gusts were terrible and it was rather chilly, but I would rather see that than summer temperatures by the end of October! Apparently our temps might actually drop to the freezing mark by tomorrow…BRRRRR! Bring on the fireplaces and the hot cocoa and the quilts! Speaking of quilts, a few weeks ago I pulled all my Fall-themed quilts and decorated for the season:

I also still have this one lying over the back of the sofa:013It doesn’t match the Fall color scheme, but I love it so much I couldn’t bear to put it away yet….( for more info on the pattern you can click here).

This past week I didn’t get anything else done on my Cozy Christmas sew-along...sad…you just know that I will get this far and then forget all about those blocks and NOT finish that quilt, don’t you?! PLEASE ask me about that quilt, and BUG me about it, until I relent and finish it! Promise? I really want that hanging this year!

I did manage to work on a few Christmas gifts however! My sister had commented how much she loved my little snowman from Lori’s pattern004and she should know by now that you don’t tell me that you “LOVE” anything, because that means I will make it for you..:). So I ended up making her her very own snowman in pillow form ( I don’t think she reads my blog on a regular basis, so I can let you all have a sneak peek!)011Isn’t he sweet? I actually like him better than the original ( might be the eyes…the first one looks like he is dead..hahaha). Anyway, I decided to make this pillow “medallion style” so I just added pieces here and there until I got to the desired size.002That was SO much fun to do! I think I have to do more projects in this manner! Anyway, here are some pics of the pillow construction in progress ( I just love making an envelope backing~ makes it look so professional)

And here is the final product! So sweet, right?!

While I was on a roll, I decided to make my niece a pillow as well. I had done one embroidery of the Bee-autiful sew along on Facebook and I used it to make this pillow for her:

Two presents done, one more to go! Good for me 🙂

Alright, now for the exciting part! Last week I showed you my give-away and this week I am announcing the winner of this sweet little quilt pattern:007I stuck all your names in a cup and drew out……041Laurel Lee! Congrats, Laurel Lee! I hope you have fun with your pattern 🙂 If you didn’t win this time, no worries, I bought a few other goodies and will be giving those away soon!

MAN!! Sometimes I go to write a new blog post and I wonder if I have enough to write about, and before you know it, my posts are too long already and I haven’t even talked about everything yet! So here is a quick end to my post: IhavebeenworkingonsomesamplesandwewenttoanantiquesshopandIfoundbuttonsandthissweetvintagefabricandIsignedupfortheSewSamplerboxfromFatQuarterShopandIloveitandmyroomneedstidyingintheworstwayandIlovemypupeventhoughheALWAYSlaysinmyway!

Did you get all that? Hahah, until next time!

Fall is here…and a winner!

Hello there,

Since I last blogged, Fall weather has definitely arrived! Even though the trees really haven’t turned color yet, there is a definite “Fall feel” in the air. Now we need a jacket to walk the dogs, and the leaves are starting to collect on the lawn a bit more. I think Fall might be my favorite season! I love the chilly mornings and evenings, plus the smell Continue reading
